GAME INFO
Power: Yang's magic is explosive--literally. She can create golden-yellow balls of light that explode when they come into contact with another object (though Yang can delay the explosion for about a minute if she wants to set a 'timer'). Yang can also decide on the size of the explosion: basically the larger the orb, the bigger the blast will be. However, the bigger the blast the more magical power, so on a good day she could manage 3 large explosions (compared to a bomb, these orbs are beach-ball sized). Obviously, the smaller explosions she could create more without much problem (marble-sized to ping pong ball-sized is equal to about a gunshot or firework). These explosions are mainly concussive force, so in order for them to actually cause a fire she would need to detonate something flammable, however they do put off their own light. While the orb is always the same color, the explosion's color might depend more on her mood or, given enough practice, on what she wants it to be. Pretty handy for an impromptu fireworks show.

NAME:Yang Xiao Long
CANON & HISTORY: RWBY History
AGE: 18
CANON POINT: Season 4, Episode 12, on her way to Mistral to meet up with Ruby
PERSONALITY:

Most people are going to try to put Yang in a box: the stereotypical party-girl blonde who is bubbly and outgoing. While those aspects are very true, as seen in the numerous times Yang HAS gone to parties; forced her way into friendships; or made a pun; that is not all she is by any means, especially now. In the past, Yang was very much a bright, outgoing girl. Often she could be seen with a grin on her face and mischief in her purple eyes. That’s toned down a bit since she lost her arm in a fight against an enemy named Adam, but that aspect of her personality is slowly coming back as she recovers emotionally from her trauma. But, even hindered by her lack of a right arm, she still seems to have loads of energy that is seen as she retrains in combat with her father. It’s hard to imagine that the fun-loving side of Yang is completely gonve, given that she was able to joke about it a bit when her teachers came to visit her father, so the rest of this section will deal a bit with how Yang used to be with the stipulation that the more ‘fun’ side of her is now becoming a bit more toned down.

Yang can easily become the life of any party and likes to have fun. Yang doesn't mind extra attention either and is very much a social butterfly and the very definition of an extrovert. Even after the fall of Beacon, when she travels to Mistral she makes friends with the people on the boat and sees back to her old self in the friendliness she shows even those minor characters. Yang usually has no trouble fitting in with groups of different sizes. She isn't phased by either gender and is just as comfortable with the boys as she is with the girls. Age doesn’t seem to matter either, as she likes to see herself as an adult and when speaking with her teachers and father persuades them to see her as this as well. She’s seen a LOT now, and knows there is room to grow, but she’s also more mature now which makes it easier for her to communicate with older people. However, that maturity has it’s limits or perhaps it’s part of it that she can joke about dire situations. Even before she lost her arm, on the battlefield, Yang didn’t see anything wrong with making jokes at her enemy's expense. However, if the battle is intense enough she will get focused, and the same goes with her past. She isn't one to take a fight lightly and that can be seen in the serious look in her eyes when she's driving her fits into her opponent's face or when she’s considering what happened at Beacon. Some things just aren’t a joke and Yang is very aware of that line.

Despite her appearance, Yang isn't the ditzy, bubble-headed blonde you would expect her to be. Oh, she can have her moments of bubbly enthusiasm and obliviousness, but it isn't at her core and she would probably punch you if you called her a dumb blonde. While she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm about certain things, she's certainly not as excitable as her sister, Ruby, and in fact on their first day at Beacon Academy is the one to reign her in while she's fangirling people's weapons. She likes to see her sister succeed and demonstrates a lot of pride in her. Not only does she overly celebrate Ruby's accomplishment at coming to Beacon with her, but isn't phased at all when the girl younger than her is made team leader. In fact, she celebrates it by giving her the biggest hug and cheering for her loudly. Though she does express some reservations about being on a team with her sister, this stems more from her desire to get Ruby a wider circle of friends and not because she doesn't necessarily want to be paired with her.

Yang has a very straightforward and confident personality. She has no problem making friends or talking to people because of this confidence. Unfortunately, she seems to expect this same confidence from her sister who doesn't have the same ease for getting along with others. Yang walks into a room and just expects to be the center of attention sooner rather than later. Her straightforwardness comes to play in the fact that she is not one to beat around the bush when it comes to things either. She is very quick to yell at everyone when a fight gets WAY ridiculous and out of hand. However, she does show remorse when she thinks Penny has overheard her call her weird. For the most part though, Yang doesn't mind people knowing how she feels. If she has something to say then Yang will speak her mind and apologize later...if she feels like it. She certainly wears her emotions on her sleeve and can't really hide anything. Even if it isn't always rage. Yang has shown sadness and concern in equal spades for her friends -- especially when they say things to hurt her or make her cry (like when Blake implies that Yang might be lying about her reasons for attacking Mercury). You can tell she tries not to let it get to her, turning away or putting up a front of anger, but those words of rejection get to her. A lot of this stems from her caring, nurturing role as a big sister. Usually she only treats Ruby in this manner, but sometimes her friends fall into this category as well. So she takes it as a personal attack against HER when she’s rejected. Blake fleeing from her after she lost her arm was especially painful and led to a lot of resentment from Yang. It is in these cases, her energetic and bright nature falls back to reveal a deceptively mature and sensitive side.

She is also very likely to act before thinking and has been described as one to "push someone in the pool to teach them how to swim." When Ruby complains about not having friends, Yang drags her over to make them and takes control of the conversation to help her out (or at least try). Basically, if you ask her a question you will get an honest answer, though you may not like to hear it. That sometimes also includes giving advice, even if you don't want to hear it (as she spends many of the first few days telling Ruby how to make friends and how important it is, which causes Ruby to groan most of the time). Yang makes your business, her business and usually she is only trying to help. This can also cause her to be something of a nuisance, especially if others do not want her help. Ruby, especially, seems to get annoyed with Yang forcing her into certain situations. She believes in herself and doesn't second guess her own actions. She'll boldly stroll into a club and grab the owner by the balls if that's what it takes. She will launch herself into action, because she thinks she is strong and can take a hit. Most of the time she isn't wrong, but her confidence took a shaking when she faced Adam and lost her arm to him. For awhile, this caused her to lose her spark of personality, but thanks to some time to recover and her dad, she's been able to start coming back around to her old self. She's learned that she has to balance her carefree nature without succumbing to overconfidence.

Despite her usual fun-loving attitude, there is nothing that will make her get serious faster than seeing someone she cares about in trouble. She especially worries and is protective of her sister, Ruby. While on the one hand, Yang always encourages her to be independent of her and wants Ruby to make other friends, there is a sense that Yang can be overprotective. This probably dates back to when Yang almost got them killed as kids and she realized that her actions had consequences. Except, when it comes to reason, Yang tends to lose her rationality when someone she cares about is in danger. Consider when she sees Blake being attacked by Adam. Instead of thinking things through, Yang rushes into the situation and loses her right arm as a consequence.

Yang has a surprisingly short fuse and a stubborn personality--which isn’t exactly the best personality combination. Yang is on a hair-trigger in a very literal sense. She has been known to go into a berserker rage if her hair is damaged even the slightest and will punch the offending party out. Her rage and frustration can often get the best of her and make her thoughtless, despite being fairly smart (see Adam confrontation). If she falls into this trap, it's easy to trick her and take her down. Neo and Nyann both manipulate this aspect of Yang’s personality and one nearly kills her over it. Instead of trying to come up with a way to take them down, she just kept blindly swinging, thinking her strength and stubborn pride would get her through. As her father pointed out to her, she'll get so caught up in punching her way through a wall that she won't think to look about going around it. It’s something she is still working on.
POWERS:
+Aura: coats her body with a shield that can protect her from some blows, powered by her soul
+Semblance: kinetic energy absorption, she can use the energy from every blow she takes to make herself more powerful. If the Semblance gets enough power, fire appears around her hair. During the final state of her Semblance, her eyes turn red and her fire is capable of bursting out of her.
OTHER:
+Yang comes with a cybernetic arm, it replaces the right arm that was cut off by Adam. It is stronger than her original arm and is painted yellow and black.

MAGIC ABILITY: Yang's magic is explosive--literally. PRICE: Ember Celica, her dual-ranged shot gauntlets weapon
ACCLIMATION: 7, considering Yang's love for adventure and her training as a Huntress -- there isn't a lot that would worry her about this place and she would probably take to it pretty easily. She's used to facing strange things and fighting tough opponents. Not to mention she's worked on her own and with different groups of people/teams, so she knows how to cooperate but can also function independently. It doesn't hurt that she makes friends fairly easily. The reason I would be reluctant to rate her higher is the fact that when she left she was on the hunt for her sister--someone she wants to look out for and JUST got around to looking for her despite several months of recovery. So she'll be annoyed for the side track, but otherwise will go along with it.

Partner: Bearmon [Honey]
Digivolution Line: Punimon - Nyaromon - Bearmon - Grizzlymon - GrapLeomon - BanchoLeomon
Info: A very shy digimon. He'll only speak to Yang. It takes him a long time to warm up to other people/digimon. He's very much a sweetheart, but if you mess with his partner he WILL mess you up. He sort of chose his name because Yang kept calling him Honey as a joke and he assumed it was his name.

Partner: Armadillomon [Porridge]
Digivolution Line: Tsubumon - Upamon - Armadillomon - Apemon - Mihiramon - Hououmon
Info: A down to earth digimon. He's much more vocal than Honey, but that's not hard to do. He has a bit of a southern twang and can be a bit slow on the uptake. He's hard to make angry and he rolls with the punches, literally sometimes. Being so grounded, he's actually kind of afraid of heights...which should prove interesting when he evolves. Very friendly type.

CHARACTER
Name: Yang Xiao Long
Canon: RWBY
Age: 17
Demigod/Hunter/Satyr/Nymph/Magician: Demigod, child of Aphrodite
Demigod abilities: Yang has the basic demigod abilities. Her reflexes seem to be especially honed for someone that's a daughter of Aphrodite and her other senses aren't bad either. Being from the Greek side of the spectrum Yang can obviously speak and read ancient Greek since she's hard-wired for that as well. Of course, she also gets the added ability to speak French since all children of Aphrodite can do that. Yang's only other ability is a limited amount of charm speak. She's not quite as good at it, since she doesn't quite have the patience to utilize it and would rather punch someone in the face...but she can do it, if she really cares to. To that end, she does tend to abuse her ability to change her appearance by making her eyes go red when she's angry.

Personality:
Yang has a very straightforward and confident personality. She has no problem making friends or talking to people because of this confidence and really it's what makes her so attractive to others as well. Yang walks into a room and just expects to be the center of attention sooner rather than later. Yang is not one to beat around the bush when it coems to things either. If she has something to say then Yang will speak her mind. She is also very likely to act before thinking and has been described as one to "push someone in the pool to teach them how to swim." Basically if you ask her a question you will get an honest answer, though you may not like to hear it.

To go with her looks, Yang is very much a bright, bubbly girl. Often she can be seen with a grin on her face and mischief in her purple eyes. She has loads of energy about her which only compliments her confident attitude. Yang can easily become the life of any party, a trait she also shares with her mother. Yang doesn't MIND that attention either and is very much a social butterfly and the very definition of an extrovert. Yang has no trouble fitting in with groups of different sizes. She isn't phased by either gender and is just as comfortable with the boys as she is with the girls. It sometimes leads others to question her sexuality, but she doesn't seem to care. Love is love after all and her mother certainly wouldn't mind. This isn't helped by her somewhat flirtatious attitude. She loves fun and flirting with others is another aspect of that. Yang can be quite the tease, and while sometimes that could get her into trouble she can usually handle it either with her charm speak or her fists.

Despite her usual fun-loving attitude there is nothing that will make her get serious faster than seeing someone she cares about in trouble. She especially worries and is protective of her fellow Aphrodite siblings. She hates that most other demigods see them as non-combatants and is determined to change that view point while at the same time protecting her siblings who AREN'T interested in fighting. She encourages her siblings to do their best in battle, but is also encouraging to other campers as well. She has a lot of faith in her fellow cabin mates.

Yang's biggest weakness is her hair. She has a lot of pride in it and if you hurt it in any way...well...it won't end well for you. Yang has a short fuse when it comes to that, though little else will bother her. It's hard to say, but her vanity could also possibly be attributed to her mother as well.

AU History:

Like most demigods, Yang's story begins before she was even born. Yang's father, Henry Long, was a boxer and mechanic in Denver, Colorado. He worked with his hands and was known for being quite handsome despite all the punches to his face on a daily basis. His rugged looks and manliness are what attracted the attention of Aphrodite. Henry didn't realize it of course and wasn't exactly happy when he found himself with a bubbly, blonde, baby girl. However, despite his rough exterior Henry was really a softy and quickly grew to love his little Yang.

Yang's life wasn't exactly normal, even before she learned she was a demigod. While Henry was a pretty decent father, he still wasn't ready to give up his boxing career just because he had a kid. Henry was actually fairly famous and had to travel sometimes for boxing matches. As such, Yang ended up staying with her Uncle Crow a lot of the time. It was there that she met Ruby and the two were very quickly inseparable (so much so that Yang to this day still considers Ruby her "sister").

Once she was old enough, Yang began to attend a private school called Signal Academy. Lucky for her, her Uncle worked there as a teacher and not only was he able to get her into the school but Yang earned her own scholarship as well. Despite being a blonde, Yang hardly lived up to any of the stereotypes and was actually quite smart. Despite this, she did struggle with her work even early on. Her natural energy meant she was often a handful for teachers who weren't sure how to handle her need to be in everyone's business. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary about that though since, according to Uncle Crow, Henry had been the same way. After speaking with her father it was decided that Yang needed an outlet. At first her father and uncle tried to get her into dance, but Yang was at an age where she wanted to impress her father. She signed up for martial arts and later boxing instead. Yang was surprisingly good at the sport and it did seem to help her stay focused in the classroom. Despite her small quirks, Yang continued to live a fairly normal life.

But of course these things can never last for a demigod. Yang soon discovered she was fluent in French without ever having taken a course when she signed up for said class in 7th grade. It wasn't long before she started attracting unwanted attention as monsters started to hone in on her scent. It took Yang a surprisingly short amount of time to accept the fact that she was a demigod. First it was the French speaking, but this was quickly followed up by a double encounter with a satyr and a monster bear. Yang actually ended up saving the satyr with her boxing skills and a club. The satyr revealed Yang's past to her and from there it wasn't hard to accept given what she had seen.

It was a little more difficult to convince Henry and Uncle Crow. Ruby was especially upset, but Yang (even at the age of 12) was able to easily convince them that it was for the best that she attend a special school on the East Coast (a front the satyr had helped her create). Shortly after that, Yang was on her way, wanting to make sure that no monsters attacked her family like they had the satyr.

She arrived at camp with little fanfare, but was claimed by her mother a few days later. This caused quite the stir among Aphrodite cabin. After all, Yang's claiming occurred shortly after she took down a boy from Hermes cabin when he cut a lock of her hair on a dare. He'd also secretly had a bit of a crush on her on first sight and her reaction (obviously) drove him away after that. Yang wasn't really bothered by the fact that she was a daughter of Aphrodite, but made it clear very quickly that she wasn't your average love child. Oh, she was bubbly, energetic, flirty, and confident. She had the looks as well. However, Yang continued to be a bit more sporty than her siblings. She continued to work at fighting and especially boxing. Yang went so far as to charm speak a boy in Hephaestus cabin to make her a pair of bronze gauntlets that she could use against monsters. This was also her first time using charm speak too. A talent that she thought was pretty cool, but found she wasn't the best at since she preferred to "speak" with her fists.

After the battle of Manhattan against the Titans, Yang left camp to attempt to find some of the missing demigods and convince them to "come home." Yang was more than a little sad about the loss of some of her siblings either in death or because they felt like they couldn't come back to Camp Half Blood after their betrayal. Yang also spent some time back home to recuperate from that loss and get in touch with her father and uncle again. It was during this stay that she received a special gift from her father: a yellow and black motorcycle he had built himself.

Yang may have stayed home too long though. She recently got word of the Red Room incident she missed and has recently returned to Camp Half Blood to help out. After all, her siblings need her.

Iris Message:
[A pretty blonde with purple eyes appears in the rainbow message. She brushes her long hair over her shoulder and gives you a big grin. She then waves.]

Hey guys, long time no see. It's me, Yang. Though I hope you didn't forget~

Oh! But I guess we do have some new faces around here, huh? Well, let me introduce myself. I'm Yang Xiao Long. I'm a Gemini, I love boxing, my favorite color is yellow or orange, and I'm the life of all parties here at camp. Oh, and I hang in Aphrodite cabin cause I'm one of the children of love.

[She seems to think this is a joke and smiles again. She then continues.]

Anyway, so I just got back in. Sorry I was away for so long, but it was nearly impossible to pry Ruby off of me, my dad had to finish the final touches on my bike, and right before I got into camp I ran into a giant monster bear that I had to teach a few manners to. But, hey, I'm back now and just in time to help you guys start getting ready for Christmas.

Well, that and find those guys from the Red Room and teach them some manners too.

[She punches her palm with a closed fist. There's a flash of red in her eyes but it is so fast that you might not notice. Plus she flips right back to happy very quickly.]

So who wants to catch me up? Don't leave out any of the good details and don't try to tell me NOTHING has happened while I was gone. This place is NEVER that boring.

CANON POINT; End of Episode 16
FAMILY TYPES;
1. Wind Guardians - I chose this family type for Yang's independent nature. While she does work with a team, she is very much a free spirit and doesn't care what others think of her. She doesn't mind working alone when she needs to and gets things done just as well.
2. Nature Spirits - This group was chosen for the fact that sometimes their partners can be loud and energetic. If there is one word to describe Yang it is that she is full of energy and spirit. It takes a lot to pull her down and her energy is often infectious, befitting of a bubbly blonde, no?
3. Dragon's Roar - Lastly is this group that I chose to match with Yang's more hot-headed attitude. Normally she's fairly laid back and relaxed. However, if you mess with her in the wrong way or even mess up her beloved hair, she will snap. She also doesn't mind going fist first into a fight and will take an enemy down with her bare hands if she has to.

APPEARANCE; Yang's most striking feature is her long blonde hair. It falls to her butt and appears to have some waves in it. She is VERY particular about her hair and it happens to be her pride. She has a pretty face and a gorgeous body to go with it. Her eyes are a light purple, although she has been known to get red eyes when she is particularly pissed off. Her skin is rather pale and she bares a lot of it in the clothes she wears, especially her impressive chest. She is on the taller side, certainly the tallest of her team and trim/fit.

Yang tends to wear clothes she can both fight and flirt in. She has a yellow shirt under a brown, gold-trimmed vest. Yang has a pair of finger-less gloves underneath her weapon of choice: Dual Ranged Shot Gauntlets. She keeps the extra cartridges for this in a belt around her waist that has a half skirt on the back, also brown. Beneath that half skirt is a pair of short black shorts and to keep the battle attire functional she wears a pair of brown boots that are highly durable and match her skirt and over-shirt. Yang's final accessory is an orange scarf around her neck.

PERSONALITY;
To go with her looks, Yang is very much a bright, outgoing girl. Often she can be seen with a grin on her face and mischief in her purple eyes. She has loads of energy about her which only compliments her confident attitude. Yang can easily become the life of any party and is all about having fun. Of course, it can just as easily turn into an overbearing sort of presence, but the point still stands. Yang doesn't MIND that attention either and is very much a social butterfly and the very definition of an extrovert. Yang has no trouble fitting in with groups of different sizes. She isn't phased by either gender and is just as comfortable with the boys as she is with the girls. She has no qualms with sharing space with her fellow Beacon freshman and the group of friends she wanders off with the first day seems to be mixed. Yang certainly seems to appreciate the male form as she gets excited seeing the "boys" around at the, as she calls it, slumber party. Even on the battlefield, Yang doesn't see what's wrong with making jokes at her enemy's expense. However, if the battle is intense enough she will get focused. She isn't one to take a fight lightly and that can be seen in the serious look in her eyes when she's driving her fits into her opponent's face.

It goes without saying that such a confident girl is also fairly optimistic. She tries to see the best in people and certainly expresses confidence in others. As we see her do during Ruby's first days at Beacon, she tries to reassure her sister that making friends won't be so bad. And, while Ruby focuses on the negative aspect, Yang continues to try and put a positive spin on things (saying that making a friend out of Jaune is a 100% increase in friends and that there is no such thing as "negative friends").

Yang makes your business her business and usually she is only trying to help. This can also cause her to be something of a nuisance, especially if others do not want her help. Ruby, especially, seems to get annoyed with Yang forcing her into certain situations.

Yang doesn't like to see people fighting either. When Ruby and Weiss first meet they don't exactly get along. Instead of immediately siding with her sister, Yang tries to talk them through a patch-up and "starting over." It doesn't exactly work mind you, but she does try. Yang just doesn't see why people can't just get along sometimes. Of course, if you push your luck and continue to act mean, Yang will be that way right back. Weiss is a good example of this since when Weiss yells at Ruby again, Yang is quick to start arguing with her about how Ruby was only trying to be nice and make friends. Yang will stand up for Ruby no matter what and it seems to always be her priority to look out for her when she is in trouble.

Despite her usual fun-loving attitude, there is nothing that will make her get serious faster than seeing someone she cares about in trouble. She especially worries and is protective of her sister, Ruby. While on the one hand, Yang always encourages her to be independent of her and wants Ruby to make other friends, there is a sense that Yang can be over protective and has made it to where Ruby is sometimes dependent on her sister for advice and guidance. Ruby is without her friends when she first arrives and relies heavily on Yang for everything. That is slowly changing and while Yang doesn't necessarily mind, there is no denying there is a strong bond between the two. Yang cares deeply for her teammates as well. When Blake disappears she spends several hours wandering the town to attempt to find her partner and new-found friend. Like Blake, she finds the treatment of the animus deplorable. It's no wonder since Beacon Academy and becoming a hunter is all about helping people and protecting them. So that aspect of Yang kind of goes without saying since she wants to become a huntress.

Yang's biggest weakness is her hair. She has a lot of pride in it and if you hurt it in any way...well...it won't end well for you. Yang has a short fuse when it comes to that, though little else will bother her. It's strange because she doesn't demonstrate many other characteristics of vanity, but she clearly takes pride in her hair and DOES wear revealing clothes with a lot of confidence. It's also difficult to say if there is anything else that will set off Yang's short fuse, as so far nothing else has been demonstrated. However, as mentioned before, she is very protective of Ruby.

"Ugh," Yang groaned as she sat up in the chute. She'd been tossed around a lot in her life, but somehow that ride had taken the cake. Yang blinked several times to try and get the world right-side up again as she rubbed at the crick in her neck. "Next time Yang, let's NOT follow the mysterious voices coming from the alley." The door before her slid open and Yang looked up, curiosity overriding any sense of precaution in her. She had her gauntlets on still, so it wasn't like she had anything to worry about. Yang pulled herself to her feet and walked out, eyes scanning the area for Grimm or other assailants. "Hello? Anyone here? Hell~o."

There was silence for a few minutes, giving Yang just enough time to get out of her tube before a high pitched cheer split the silence. Yang looked up in time to see a stuffed animal flying at her out of nowhere. She caught it before it could latch onto her face, though it took her a few minutes to register the fact that it was cheering and chanting about how she was here, she was finally here. Yang blinked, utterly confused. If she didn't know better she would think it was a grimm but there were two things wrong with that. One it was talking and two it wasn't trying to eat her face.

"Uhm...what? Are you some kind of toy or something?"

"No, silly, I'm a digimon. I'm Culumon." The thing giggled, it actually giggled. Yang stared at it for a second longer.

"A what?"

Yang was still holding it away from her face, though she was relaxing a little bit. This thing, whatever it was, obviously wasn't your typical monster. It was too cute and small and she was pretty sure if it DID try something she could drop kick it across the room without worrying too much about a fight. So, she let it talk and explain itself. It took a few times for it to get focused on that though. It seemed more interested in playing. Yang could appreciate a creature that wanted to have fun, but right now she wanted answers. Once Culumon had finished, Yang wasn't quite sure if she had actually gotten anything answered.

"Okay. So let me get this straight. There are creatures called digimon out there, one of them is my partner, and we're supposed to fight other digimon in order to help the world?" When Culumon nodded Yang broke into a grin. She pounded her fist into her open palm, "Okay, sounds easy enough." Yang turned to snatch up the digivice he had indicated before and found another device as well. She figured she could work it all out later after some investigation of her own. Yang tossed the digivice up and down several times before slipping it into one of the pouches on her belt. "Lead the way little guy." Yang brushed her hair back as she moved to follow the bouncing ball of white out of the room.
